2.4. Report Cards and Testing
Our students are tested and marked using CAPS-aligned methods by a registered teacher. Our report cards are accepted by the Department of Education for next-phase application for homeschooling purposes.
User Obligations and Conduct
3.1. Account Responsibility
If you create an account on our platform, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password and for restricting access to your computer. You agree to accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account or password.
3.2. Lawful Use
You agree to use the Services only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of, restrict, or inhibit anyone else’s use and enjoyment of the Services.
3.3. Session Conduct
You agree to ensure that the student and any accompanying parent/guardian maintain a respectful and professional demeanor during all tutoring sessions. Disruptive, abusive, or inappropriate behavior towards our tutors or staff will result in the immediate termination of the session and may lead to the permanent suspension of Services without a refund.
3.4. Required Equipment
You are responsible for having the necessary equipment to access the virtual sessions, including a reliable internet connection, a computer/laptop/tablet, a webcam, and a microphone. Akan Ascendia Ed is not responsible for session disruptions due to issues with your equipment or internet connection.
Payments, Cancellations, and Rescheduling
4.1. Pricing and Payment
Pricing for our Services is outlined on our “Pricing” page or is provided directly via a personalized quote. All fees are due as specified at the time of purchase or enrollment. We reserve the right to change our pricing at any time, but price changes will not apply to services already paid for.
4.2. Session Cancellation and Rescheduling (Live Tutoring)
We understand that schedules can change. For live, scheduled tutoring sessions, a flexible cancellation and rescheduling policy applies. You are typically required to provide 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a session to avoid charges. Failure to provide the required notice may result in the session being charged in full. Specific details will be provided upon enrollment.
4.3. Digital Products and Course Refunds (General Policy)
Due to the instant access and digital nature of our products (including online courses where content is immediately accessible), all sales of digital products are generally final and non-refundable once access has been granted or the product has been downloaded.
4.4. Exceptions to Digital Product/Course Refunds (Limited)
We may consider refund requests in the following exceptional circumstances, at our sole discretion:
• Duplicate Purchase: If you accidentally purchased the same product twice.
• Technical Fault (Unresolvable): If you experience a persistent technical issue that prevents you from accessing or using the product, and our support team is unable to resolve it within a reasonable timeframe.
• Misrepresentation: If the digital product was significantly misrepresented on our website.
4.5. Refund Request Process
To request a refund, you must contact our support team at info@akanascendiaed.co.za within 3 days of your purchase, providing your order number and a detailed explanation of the issue. Refund decisions are at the sole discretion of Akan Ascendia Ed.
4.6. Course-Specific Cancellation Fee
For online courses, if you cancel your enrollment within 14 days of purchase, a 5% admin fee will be deducted from your refund, provided the system was never accessed. If a refund is granted for any course, your access to the course content will be immediately revoked.
